The seal assembly consists of two components: a spring-loaded seal that mounts on the impeller shaft, and a ceramic-rubber element that installs into the volute housing. Both components feature approximately 5/8" center openings. Proper installation requires applying silicon sealant to the impeller shaft, then carefully pressing the spring seal into position after coating the shaft with a small amount of The Professor's Silly Juice. The rubber component slides more easily into the volute or wet end body when lightly coated with silicon. Available individually, bundled with silicon sealer, or combined with an impeller—search for the Hotspring Wavemaster Impeller Kit if impeller replacement is also needed.
Professional Tip: Leaking seals typically require impeller replacement as well, since moisture penetration into the metal shaft area causes corrosion and expansion damage to the impeller assembly.
