Package contains: (1) shaft seal assembly, (1) bearing, professional installation tool, plus (1) 1/2 oz tube of The Professor's Silly Juice - a premium silicon sealer specially engineered for spa applications.
Important: Watkins utilized 4 different wet end manufacturers for Wavemaster pumps. Verify your pump label displays 04184 before ordering.
The spring-loaded seal component mounts directly onto your impeller shaft while the ceramic and rubber portion installs within the volute housing. Both seal pieces feature approximately 5/8" center holes. Proper installation requires applying silicon sealant to the impeller shaft before carefully pressing the seal into position with a thin coating of The Professor's Silly Juice on the shaft surface. The rubber seal section benefits from a light silicon application for easier insertion into the volute or wet end body. Available separately or bundled with impeller - search for Hotspring Wavemaster Impeller Kit if shaft replacement is needed.
Professional tip: Leaking seals typically indicate impeller replacement is necessary. Water intrusion into the metal shaft area causes corrosion and expansion that damages the impeller threads.
