This complete 4 HP 56 Frame Waterway Executive wet end assembly with 2 1/2" X 2" configuration includes everything needed: screws, volute, impeller, seal, face plate, and wear ring. Frame sizing is determined by motor through-bolt spacing: 56 Frame units measure 4 1/8" between bolts or 5 3/4" in an X pattern, while 48 Frame units measure 3 5/8" between or 5 3/16" diagonal.
This wet end is designed for motors drawing approximately 14.0 Amps at 230V. No 4 HP versions operate at 115V.
Important: The front suction side fitting on this wet end measures approximately 3 5/8" edge to edge, which is larger than standard 2" pump unions that measure about 3" edge to edge. Verify your current wet end has this oversized suction fitting before purchasing.
To confirm proper horsepower, check the amperage rating on your motor label. For dual-speed pumps, you'll see two numbers such as 10.0/3.5—the higher number indicates high-speed amperage. Reference guide: 8.0 Amps = 1 HP, 10.0 Amps = 2 HP, 12.0 Amps = 3 HP, 14.0 Amps = 4 HP, 16.0 Amps = 5 HP. Always use amperage rather than the horsepower stated on the motor label, as amperage provides accurate specification while horsepower claims are often inflated. For example: two genuine 5 HP pumps at 16 amps each would draw 32 amps combined, plus a 5.5 KW heater adds 21 amps, totaling 53 amps—exceeding most 50 amp hot tub breakers.
