This complete 3 HP Waterway Executive 56 Frame wet end assembly with 2 1/2" x 2" ports includes all essential components: volute, impeller, seal, face plate, wear ring, and mounting screws. Frame size identification: 56 Frame units feature motor through-bolt spacing of 4 1/8" center-to-center or 5 3/4" measured diagonally in an X pattern, compared to 48 Frame spacing of 3 5/8" center-to-center or 5 3/16" diagonally. This wet end is compatible with motors operating at approximately 12.0 Amps at 230V. Note that 3HP spa pumps are not available in 115V configurations.
Important Compatibility Note: This wet end features an oversized suction port measuring approximately 3 5/8" edge to edge, larger than standard 2" union fittings which measure about 3" across. Verify your existing wet end has this larger suction fitting before ordering.
To confirm proper horsepower rating, locate the amperage specification on your motor label. For dual-speed pumps, you'll see two values like 10.0/3.5 (the first number indicates high-speed amperage). Single-speed motors display one value. Amperage-to-horsepower guide: 8.0A = 1HP, 10.0A = 2HP, 12.0A = 3HP, 14.0A = 4HP, 16.0A = 5HP. Always reference amperage rather than the horsepower printed on the motor, as horsepower ratings are frequently inaccurate while amperage specifications are reliable. Consider this: two actual 5HP pumps at 16A each plus a 5.5KW heater at 21A would require 53 total amps—exceeding typical 50A spa breakers, confirming most systems don't actually contain 5HP+ pumps as claimed.
