Premium silicon carbide shaft seal designed as an upgraded, salt-resistant alternative to the standard PS-1000 seal configuration.
Silicon carbide construction delivers superior wear resistance, outstanding chemical tolerance, improved dry-running performance, and exceptional hardness—making this seal ideal for demanding applications including high-temperature, corrosive, and aggressive chemical environments.
This replacement seal is engineered specifically for Waterway brand pump wet ends. Dimensional specifications: spring seal backing measures 1 3/8" diameter for volute installation, while the ceramic and rubber component measures 1 1/4" diameter for impeller mounting. Both components feature approximately 5/8" center bore openings.
Compatible with multiple Waterway pump series including Executive, Hi-Flo, Spa Flo, Iron Might, 1 1/2" Center Discharge, E Series, and Workman wet end assemblies.
Installation guidance: Apply silicon sealant to the metal component backing before gently seating into position using a 1" coupler as an installation tool. A thin layer of silicon lubricant on the rubber component facilitates smooth insertion into the impeller assembly.
Important maintenance note: Leaking seals frequently result in moisture intrusion into the metal shaft area where the impeller attaches, causing expansion and potential impeller damage. When replacing seals, inspect impellers carefully for damage. Replacement impellers and seal/impeller combination kits are available separately.
