The PS-3865 represents an enhanced Viton Carbon Graphite seal designed for salt water and ozone system compatibility. This premium component serves as an upgraded alternative to the PS-1000 seal, engineered specifically for Waterway Brand wet end assemblies.
Precise Measurements: The spring seal component measures 1 3/8" across its rear surface where it interfaces with the volute or wet end housing. The ceramic and rubber assembly that seats into the impeller is 1 1/4" in diameter. Both sections feature approximately 5/8" center openings.
Compatible Models: This seal works with Waterway Executive, Hi-Flo, Spa Flo, Iron Might, 1 1/2" Center Discharge, E Series, and Workman pump wet ends.
Installation Guidelines: Apply silicone sealant to the metal component's rear surface and carefully press into position using a 1" coupler as an installation tool. A thin layer of silicone on the rubber section facilitates smooth insertion into the impeller.
Important Service Note: Leaking seals frequently cause water infiltration into the metal shaft area, resulting in corrosion and impeller damage. Compatibility Exception: This PS-3865 seal is not suitable for Waterway 2 1/2" Viper wet ends, which require the Better PS-200 seal instead.
