They became friends starting in Basic training in Texas all the way through to Germany and back..

He married Elisabeth Stefaniak Elvis' personal secretary in 1960 and they have been married over 58 years up till now..

This book takes you from Rex's early life to his time with Elvis and after Elvis until today..

Rex shares some inside stories as well as his personal testimony of his life as a born again Christian and the challenges he and Elisabeth faced through the years..

It is a tale of Forbidden love and their choice of Love or Elvis and the happily ever after tale..

Rex and Elisabeth Mansfield are true survivors. They resisted the allure of a Hollywood celebrity lifestyle, stepping away from the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. They turned away from the temptations of wealth and worldly desires (1 John 4:15-17) and committed their lives to Christ in 1976. Rex, approaching his 82nd birthday on July 8, 2017, has endured numerous health challenges over the past two decades, including Guillain-Barré Syndrome, type 2 diabetes, open heart surgery, iritis, a broken Achilles tendon, facial skin cancer, a torn rotator cuff tendon, and hernia surgery.

Elisabeth faced macular degeneration, losing sight in her left eye after 29 injections, but by God's grace, now has 20/15 vision in her right eye. Recently, she has also survived stage one lung cancer, thanks to CyberKnife radiosurgery, and is on the path to being cancer-free. The Mansfields have navigated over five decades of marriage's ups and downs, supported by God's divine guidance, and have raised a wonderful son, Don Mansfield Jr., born in January 1966 and now 51 years old.

Our prayer is that readers of "Living the Moments" will not only be inspired by their story but also blessed by the lessons they learn about God's incredible and marvelous grace!
