This comprehensive seal replacement kit is designed for 8-mount bracketless style Piranha, Thera-Flo, and Thera-Max circulation pumps. The complete package includes a premium mechanical seal assembly, professional installation tool, and The Professor's Silly Juice silicon sealant for proper seal installation.
Seal Specifications: The spring-loaded seal component that mounts to the impeller measures 1 3/8" across the back. The ceramic and rubber seal component that installs into the volute (wet end back) also measures 1 3/8" in diameter. Both seal parts feature a center bore of approximately 3/4".
Critical Compatibility Information: This kit is specifically engineered for 8-mount configuration wet end backs with a 1 3/8" diameter seal pocket. A different seal parts kit is required for 4-mount wet end configurations, which use smaller 1 1/4" outside dimension seal components.
Installation Guidelines: Apply silicon sealant to the rear surface of the metal seal component before gently pressing into position within the wet end. A thin layer of silicon on the rubber seal portion helps it slide smoothly onto the impeller shaft.
Important Service Note: When replacing a leaking seal, impeller replacement is typically necessary. Seal failure allows water infiltration into the metal shaft area where the impeller threads on, causing corrosion and expansion that damages the impeller.
