This PVC coupling connects two 3/4" slip pipes together for hot tub and spa plumbing systems. The interior diameter of this coupler measures 1". Understanding PVC pipe sizing can be confusing because the nominal size (what the part is called) differs from the actual measurements. The nominal size refers to the inside diameter of the pipe that fits into the fitting, not the visible outer pipe dimension. To help you select the correct plumbing components, use the outer pipe diameter as your guide. A pipe designed for 3/4" fittings will measure 1" on its exterior, which matches the 1" interior opening of this coupler. Reference this pipe sizing guide based on outside diameter measurements:
