Description
Auto-Reset Thermodisc Surface Mount Hi-Limit Switch - DPST Configuration with Screw Terminals (No Capillary Tube)
This thermal safety device mounts directly onto your spa heater assembly to monitor actual water temperature. The thermodisc mechanism trips at 121°F, inverting its bi-metallic disc to open the circuit and protect your system from overheating. Depending on your control configuration, this may shut down the entire spa or just disable the heating element while pumps continue running. Note that continued pump operation can sometimes allow temperatures to rise further due to motor heat and water friction. As water cools below the trip point, the metallic disc automatically returns to its original shape, closing the circuit and allowing heating to resume. This cycle repeats until the underlying temperature issue is resolved. Unlike manual-reset versions, this unit resets automatically.
Compatible with multiple spa brands and heater types including Sundance Sentry 850 Heaters. Cross-reference numbers: 314100, 6000-093, SD6000-093, Sundance 6000-093, Allied Code 2-05-0110. Fits Cal Spa heat exchangers with wet elements, Brett Aqualine 34-1022k, and Len Gordon 5" x 5" square flange heaters. Brand: Thermodisc. This thermal cutoff (TCO) auto-reset switch is used on Sundance smart heaters, Cal Spa wet elements, and other compatible systems.
Troubleshooting Note: To test your thermodisc, check both circuit paths. The input side has a black 120V positive leg connected to screw terminal (1), which passes through an internal switch to screw terminal (2) feeding the heater. The opposite side features a red 120V positive leg at its corresponding screw terminal.
