This listing is for a 2 1/2" Thread X 1 1/2" Slip Heater Union complete with matching Gasket. This union accepts a 1 1/2" pipe or fitting on the slip (glue) side and threads onto a 2 1/2" Heater Flange using a 2 1/2" Nut on the heater connection side. The slip end bonds to 1 1/2" pipe or splice measuring approximately 1 7/8" diameter, while the threaded end connects to a 2 1/2" Heater Flange fitting measuring approximately 3 11/16" across. Please note: Global carries additional 2 1/2" heater unions in different configurations including 2 1/2" thread X 2" Slip and 2 1/2" Thread X 2 1/2" Slip. If your spa plumbing is 1 1/2" and your heater flange is 2 1/2", this is your correct union. This configuration is the least commonly used version. The 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" is most frequently ordered, followed by 2 1/2" X 2" as second most common. This union component is utilized in hot tub installations to connect plumbing to a 3" heater equipped with a 2" flange.
