Description
The PS-3868 represents a premium upgrade over the standard PS-201 seal, featuring superior Viton Carbon Graphite construction for extended durability. This enhanced seal kit is engineered specifically for Vico and Sta-Rite wet ends, as well as Power Right pumps commonly found in Cal Spa systems. Both seal components measure 1 3/8" across their backs, with center openings of approximately 3/4". The spring-loaded component mounts directly onto your impeller shaft, while the ceramic and rubber portion installs into the volute or wet end housing. Installation requires applying silicone sealant to the impeller shaft before gently pressing the spring seal into position. A light coating of silicone on the rubber component facilitates smooth insertion into the volute body. This replacement seal is compatible with most Sta-Rite, Vico, and Cal Spa Power Right pump models.
Important maintenance note: Seal failures typically allow water penetration into the metal shaft assembly where the impeller attaches. This moisture causes expansion and often damages the impeller, making impeller replacement necessary in most leak situations.
