Description
This PS-201 replacement shaft seal features Buna construction and is engineered specifically for Vico and Sta-Rite wet end assemblies. The seal measures 1 3/8" across both the spring-loaded component and the ceramic/rubber section, with approximately 3/4" shaft openings in each piece. The spring seal component mounts onto the impeller shaft while the ceramic and rubber section installs into the volute or wet end housing. Compatible with Sta-Rite, Vico, and most Cal Spa pumps including Power Right models.
Installation Guidelines: Apply a thin layer of silicone sealant to the impeller shaft before carefully pressing the spring seal into position. The rubber component also benefits from a light silicone coating to ease installation into the volute or wet end body. Both seal parts feature 3/4" center holes for proper shaft fitment.
Important Service Note: Seal failure typically requires impeller replacement as well. Water intrusion from leaking seals penetrates the metal shaft area where the impeller attaches, causing expansion and subsequent impeller damage. Global recommends inspecting the impeller condition whenever replacing this seal to ensure optimal pump performance and prevent repeat failures.
