This complete service kit is designed for Watkins hot tub pumps, specifically Vendor #04184, known as the Wavemaster 3000 model. The kit includes (1) shaft seal with installation tool, (2) bearings, and (1) 1/2 oz tube of The Professor's Silly Juice - a premium silicon sealer specially formulated for spa applications.
Important: Watkins utilized 4 different wet end manufacturers under the Wavemaster designation. Verify your pump label shows 04184 before ordering.
The seal assembly consists of a spring seal component that mounts on the impeller shaft and a ceramic/rubber component that installs in the volute housing. Both seal parts feature approximately 5/8" center openings. For proper installation, apply silicon sealant to the impeller shaft, add a small amount of The Professor's Silly Juice lubricant, then carefully press the spring seal into position. The rubber seal component benefits from a light silicon coating for easier installation into the volute or wet end housing.
Professional tip: Leaking seals typically indicate impeller replacement is also necessary, as water infiltration into the metal shaft area causes expansion and impeller damage.
