This complete Waterway Executive 3 HP wet end assembly comes ready to install with all components included: volute, impeller, seal, face plate, wear ring, and mounting screws. Designed for 48 Frame motors with 2" intake and 2" discharge ports.
Understanding Frame Sizes: The 48 Frame features motor through-bolt spacing of 3 5/8" (center to center) or 5 3/16" measured diagonally in an X pattern. This differs from 56 Frame models which measure 4 1/8" between bolts or 5 3/4" diagonally.
Identifying Your HP Rating: This 3 HP wet end operates at approximately 12.0 Amps at 230V. Important: No 3HP spa pumps run on 115V.
To verify compatibility, check the motor label for amperage ratings (not the advertised horsepower). For dual-speed pumps, you'll see two numbers like 10.0/3.5 — the higher number (10.0 in this example) indicates your HP rating. Reference guide: 8.0A = 1HP | 10.0A = 2HP | 12.0A = 3HP | 14.0A = 4HP | 16.0A = 5HP
Critical Note: Always match by amperage, not the HP stamped on your motor. Manufacturers often inflate horsepower claims, but electrical draw is accurate. Consider this: Two actual 5HP pumps (16A each = 32A) plus a 5.5KW heater (21A) would require 53 amps total — exceeding most 50-amp hot tub installations. If your math doesn't add up, your pump isn't truly the advertised horsepower.
