Description
This complete 3 HP Waterway Executive wet end assembly includes everything needed for installation: volute, impeller, seal, face plate, wear ring, and mounting screws. Designed for 48 frame configurations with 2 1/2" intake and 2" discharge ports.
48 Frame Specifications: Motor through-bolt spacing measures 3 5/8" center-to-center or 5 3/16" diagonal (X-pattern). Compare this to 56 frame models which measure 4 1/8" between bolts or 5 3/4" diagonally.
Important Suction Port Detail: This assembly features an oversized front suction fitting measuring approximately 3 5/8" across (edge to edge), larger than standard 2" union fittings which measure about 3" across. Verify your current wet end has this larger suction configuration before purchasing.
Electrical Characteristics: Compatible with motors drawing approximately 12.0 amps at 230V. No 115V versions exist for 3HP ratings.
Horsepower Verification Guide: Always verify actual horsepower by checking the amperage rating on your motor label rather than the stated HP rating. For dual-speed pumps, two amperage values will be listed (example: 10.0/3.5). Use the higher number. Reference chart: 8.0A = 1HP | 10.0A = 2HP | 12.0A = 3HP | 14.0A = 4HP | 16.0A = 5HP. Amperage provides accurate horsepower determination, as HP ratings are frequently overstated. Consider your electrical service capacity when assessing pump specifications—two pumps plus heater operation may exceed circuit breaker ratings if horsepower claims are inflated.
