This complete 2 HP Waterway Executive wet end assembly features 2" X 2" plumbing connections and fits 56 Frame motors. Your purchase includes everything needed: screws, volute, impeller, seal, face plate, and wear ring.
Frame Size Identification: To confirm you need a 56 Frame wet end, measure your motor's through-bolt spacing. 56 Frame motors measure 4 1/8" between bolts or 5 3/4" in an X pattern. For reference, 48 Frame motors measure 3 5/8" between bolts or 5 3/16" in an X pattern.
Determining True Horsepower: This wet end is designed for pumps drawing approximately 10.0 Amps at 230V or 16.0 Amps at 115V. Always verify your replacement part by checking the amperage rating on your motor label rather than the stated horsepower. For two-speed motors, look for dual amperage ratings like 10.0/3.5 — the higher number (10.0) indicates high-speed operation. Use this amperage guide: 8.0A = 1HP, 10.0A = 2HP, 12.0A = 3HP, 14.0A = 4HP, 16.0A = 5HP.
Important Note: Manufacturer horsepower claims are often inflated. Amperage readings provide accurate sizing information. Consider that two genuine 5HP pumps (16A each) plus a 5.5KW heater (21A) would require 53 total amps — exceeding most 50-amp hot tub breakers. This confirms many pumps labeled as higher horsepower actually operate at lower ratings.
