This complete 4 HP Waterway Executive wet end assembly fits 48 Frame motors with 2" x 2" plumbing connections. Your purchase includes all necessary components: volute, impeller, seal, face plate, wear ring, and mounting screws.
Identifying 48 Frame Compatibility: The 48 Frame design features motor through-bolt spacing of 3 5/8" center-to-center or 5 3/16" measured in an X pattern. This differs from 56 Frame models which measure 4 1/8" between bolts or 5 3/4" diagonally.
Determining True Horsepower: This wet end suits pumps drawing approximately 14.0 Amps at 230V. Note that all 4HP spa pumps operate on 230V only—no 115V options exist for this horsepower rating.
To verify your pump's actual horsepower, check the motor label for amperage ratings (not the HP claim). For dual-speed pumps, you'll see two numbers like 10.0/3.5—the first number is your high-speed amperage. Use this reference: 8.0A = 1HP | 10.0A = 2HP | 12.0A = 3HP | 14.0A = 4HP | 16.0A = 5HP
Important: Disregard horsepower claims printed on motors—rely solely on amperage specifications. Here's why: many claim to have 5HP pumps, but the math doesn't support it. Two genuine 5HP pumps at 16 amps each equals 32 amps, plus a 5.5KW heater adds 21 amps, totaling 53 amps. Most tubs run on 50-amp breakers, making true dual 5HP configurations impossible.
