Description
This complete 3 HP 56 Frame Waterway Executive wet end assembly features 2" x 2" connections and includes everything needed for installation: screws, volute, impeller, seal, face plate, wear ring, bleeder barb, and silicone. The included bleeder barb replaces one standard plug and accommodates your existing 3/8" bleeder hose from your previous pump configuration.
Understanding frame size is critical: 56 Frame wet ends have motor through-bolt spacing of 4 1/8" between bolts or 5 3/4" measured in an X pattern. For comparison, 48 Frame units measure 3 5/8" between bolts or 5 3/16" in an X pattern. This wet end is designed for pumps drawing approximately 12.0 Amps at 230V.
To verify correct horsepower, check your motor label for amperage ratings. On 2-speed pumps, you'll see two values (example: 10.0/3.5); use the higher number. Single-speed pumps show one amperage. Reference guide: 8.0 Amps = 1 HP, 10.0 Amps = 2 HP, 12.0 Amps = 3 HP, 14.0 Amps = 4 HP, 16.0 Amps = 5 HP. IMPORTANT: Always match by amperage rather than the horsepower printed on your motor, as horsepower ratings are frequently overstated. Amperage provides accurate motor capacity. Consider this: two 5 HP pumps at 16 amps each plus a 5.5 KW heater would draw 53 amps total—exceeding most 50 amp hot tub breakers, proving most pumps are not actually 5+ HP as claimed.
