This complete 1 HP 48 Frame Waterway Executive Wet End Assembly 2 1/2" X 2" includes Bleeder Barb Kit with all components: Screws, Volute, Impeller, Seal, Face, Wear Ring, Bleeder Barb and Silicon. The Bleeder Barb replaces one plug and reconnects to your existing 3/8" bleeder hose from your prior pump installation. Frame size identification: 48 Frame motor through-bolts measure 3 5/8" apart or 5 3/16" in X Pattern configuration, while 56 Frame measures 4 1/8" apart or 5 3/4" in X Pattern configuration. Compatible with pumps drawing approximately 8.0 Amps at 230V or 12.0 Amps at 115V.
Important: Standard 2" pump unions measure approximately 3" edge to edge, however this assembly features an enlarged front suction side measuring approximately 3 5/8" edge to edge. Verify your current wet end has this larger suction side fitting before purchasing.
To verify compatibility, check your motor label for amperage ratings. Two speed pumps show two values (example: 10.0/3.5, where 10.0 is high speed amperage). Single speed pumps display one value. Amperage to horsepower reference: 8.0 = 1 HP, 10.0 = 2 HP, 12.0 = 3 HP, 14.0 = 4 HP, 16.0 = 5 HP. Always use the amperage rating from your motor label rather than any horsepower markings, as horsepower specifications are frequently inaccurate while amperage ratings are precise. For perspective: two 5 HP pumps at 16 amps each equal 32 amps, plus a 5.5 KW heater adds 21 amps, totaling 53 amps—exceeding typical 50 amp breaker capacity. This demonstrates why actual amperage verification is critical for proper wet end selection.
