Description
This is a complete Waterway Executive 2 HP 48 Frame wet end assembly measuring 2 1/2" X 2" with integrated bleeder barb kit. Your purchase includes all necessary components: mounting screws, volute housing, impeller, mechanical seal, seal plate, wear ring, bleeder barb fitting, and silicone sealant. The bleeder barb substitutes for one standard plug and reconnects to your existing 3/8" bleeder line from your original pump configuration.
Identifying frame size: 48 Frame motors feature through-bolt spacing of 3 5/8" (center to center) or 5 3/16" measured in an X pattern, while 56 Frame models measure 4 1/8" between bolts or 5 3/4" diagonally. This wet end is designed for motors drawing approximately 10.0 Amps at 230V or 16.0 Amps at 115V operation.
Important Fitment Note: Standard 2" pump unions measure approximately 3" across, but this Executive model features an enlarged suction port measuring approximately 3 5/8" edge to edge. Verify your current wet end has this oversized suction fitting before purchasing.
To verify horsepower rating, check the motor nameplate for amperage specifications. On dual-speed models, two amp ratings will be shown (example: 10.0/3.5, where 10.0 represents high speed). Reference guide for high-speed amperage: 8.0 Amps = 1 HP, 10.0 Amps = 2 HP, 12.0 Amps = 3 HP, 14.0 Amps = 4 HP, 16.0 Amps = 5 HP. Always rely on amperage ratings rather than horsepower claims printed on the motor. Amperage provides accurate electrical draw information - for example, dual 5 HP pumps at 16 amps each (32 amps total) plus a 5.5 KW heater (21 amps) would require 53 amps, exceeding typical 50 amp spa circuits. This confirms most residential spas use lower horsepower pumps than commonly advertised.
