Description

This Waterway Executive 3 HP wet end assembly features 2" x 2" plumbing connections and fits 56 Frame motors. Complete replacement kit includes volute, impeller, seal, wear ring, face plate, and mounting screws.

56 Frame vs 48 Frame Identification: The 56 Frame configuration has motor thru bolt spacing of 4 1/8" center-to-center or 5 3/4" measured in an X pattern. The 48 Frame measures 3 5/8" between bolts or 5 3/16" in an X pattern.

Verify Your Horsepower by Amperage: This 3 HP wet end is designed for pumps drawing approximately 12.0 Amps at 230V. Determining the correct horsepower requires checking the motor label amperage, not the stated HP rating. For 2-speed pumps, look for two amperage values (example: 10.0/3.5). Use the higher number. For single-speed motors, find the single amperage listing.

Amperage to Horsepower Guide:
8.0 Amps = 1 HP
10.0 Amps = 2 HP
12.0 Amps = 3 HP
14.0 Amps = 4 HP
16.0 Amps = 5 HP

Important: Always rely on amperage rather than the horsepower printed on your motor. Manufacturers frequently overstate HP ratings. Amperage provides accurate information. Consider this: Two genuine 5 HP pumps at 16 amps each draw 32 amps total. Add a 5.5 KW heater at 21 amps, and you reach 53 amps—exceeding most 50 amp spa breakers. If your hot tub operates on a 50 amp circuit, your pumps are not actually 5+ HP regardless of what the label claims.
