This complete Waterway Executive wet end assembly is designed for 1 HP spa pumps with a 48 frame motor configuration, featuring 2" x 2" plumbing connections. The package includes everything needed for installation: volute housing, impeller, mechanical seal, seal plate, wear ring, mounting screws, silicone, and an integrated bleeder barb for connecting a 3/8" bleeder line.
Frame Identification: This 48 frame wet end features motor through-bolt spacing of 3 5/8" center-to-center (or 5 3/16" measured in an X pattern). This differs from 56 frame units which measure 4 1/8" center-to-center (or 5 3/4" in X pattern).
Amperage Specifications: Compatible with motors drawing approximately 8.0 amps at 230V or 12.0 amps at 115V. For accurate horsepower identification, always reference the motor label amperage rather than the stated HP rating, as manufacturers often overstate power ratings.
Understanding True Horsepower: Motor amperage provides accurate HP ratings: 8.0A = 1 HP, 10.0A = 2 HP, 12.0A = 3 HP, 14.0A = 4 HP, 16.0A = 5 HP. On dual-speed pumps, the label shows two values (example: 10.0/3.5) where the higher number indicates high-speed amperage. Verify your electrical panel capacity matches your actual amp draw to ensure safe operation.
