This complete 5 HP Waterway Executive wet end assembly includes everything needed for your 48 frame spa pump: volute, impeller, seal, face plate, wear ring, silicone, mounting screws, plus a barb fitting for 3/8" bleeder line attachment. Designed for 2" inlet x 2" outlet configuration on 230V systems drawing approximately 16.0 amps.
Identifying 48 Frame Compatibility: Measure your motor's through-bolt spacing. This 48 frame features 3 5/8" spacing between bolts or 5 3/16" measured in an X pattern. Compare this to 56 frame motors which measure 4 1/8" between bolts or 5 3/4" diagonally.
Critical Sizing Guidance: Verify your actual horsepower by checking the motor label amperage rather than the stated HP rating. For dual-speed pumps, locate both amperage values (example format: 10.0/3.5). Use the higher number for sizing. Reference guide: 8.0A = 1HP, 10.0A = 2HP, 12.0A = 3HP, 14.0A = 4HP, 16.0A = 5HP. Note that 5 HP pumps operate exclusively on 230V circuits—no 115V options exist.
Why Amperage Matters: Manufacturer HP claims are often inflated. Calculate your actual electrical load: two genuine 5HP pumps (32 amps combined) plus a 5.5kW heater (21 amps) totals 53 amps—exceeding most 50 amp spa breakers.
