Description

This Waterway Executive 5 HP wet end assembly features 2" x 2" plumbing connections designed for 56 Frame motors. The complete kit arrives ready to install with all essential components: volute housing, impeller, mechanical seal, seal face, wear ring, and mounting screws.

Frame Size Identification: Distinguishing between 48 and 56 Frame configurations is straightforward - measure the motor through-bolt spacing. A 56 Frame measures 4 1/8" center-to-center or 5 3/4" diagonally in an X pattern, while 48 Frame spacing is 3 5/8" between bolts or 5 3/16" diagonal.

Critical Horsepower Rating Information: This wet end matches motors drawing approximately 16.0 amps at 230V. The horsepower rating stamped on your motor may be misleading - always verify by checking the actual amperage listed on the motor label for accurate identification.

For dual-speed pumps, the label displays two amperage values (example: 10.0/3.5). Use the higher number for identification purposes. For single-speed models, one amperage value appears.

Amperage to Horsepower Reference Guide:
8.0 Amps = 1 HP
10.0 Amps = 2 HP
12.0 Amps = 3 HP
14.0 Amps = 4 HP
16.0 Amps = 5 HP

Why Amperage Matters: Manufacturers often overstate horsepower ratings. Consider the electrical reality: two genuine 5 HP pumps at 16 amps each total 32 amps, plus a 5.5 KW heater adds 21 amps, equaling 53 amps total draw. Most residential hot tubs operate on 50 amp breakers, making true 5 HP configurations impossible in typical installations.

The Executive series wet end line includes 1 HP, 2 HP, 3 HP, 4 HP, and 5 HP versions, all sharing the 2" x 2" / 56 Frame specifications.
